But, like any premium material, it needs to be installed correctly.
Rough handling and abrasive discs, for example, can both damage the protective coating – as can poorly angled cuts.

We exclusively work with COLORBOND and ZINCALUME steel, and we offer a 7-year workmanship guarantee on every installation (2 years more than the statutory standard).

Every roof we install is delivered by our founder, Daniel Inguanez, and our Adelaide-based roofing team. We don’t use subbies unless we run into capacity issues on a big project – and, if that’s the case, we’ll always communicate it with you before they enter the worksite.

We offer a 10-year workmanship warranty on every installation – 2 years more than South Australia’s statutory warranty for domestic builds. That means, if one our roofs is defective at any point in the 10 years after installation, we’ll remedy it for free.
COLORBOND and ZINCALUME are both coated steel products manufactured by BlueScope, Australia’s largest steel manufacturer. They’re suitable for a range of building applications, including walls, fences, and roofs.
ZINCALUME is a structural steel coated with a corrosion-resistant alloy of aluminium, zinc and magnesium. Because it’s unpainted, it has a shiny, light-grey surface that dulls with age and exposure.
COLORBOND is ZINCALUME with extra protective coatings. It has the exact same structural properties, but is available in more than 22 colours, including matt finishes. It comprises:
Different COLORBOND finishes have different purposes. Coolmax, for example, is specifically engineered to reduce heat gain by reflecting as much sunlight as possible.
COLORBOND’s attractive palette and functional features generally make it the best choice for residential projects, although it is slightly more expensive than ZINCALUME. If you’re working under a D&C contract, read BlueScope’s guidance on specifying the right option.
